At Gwynne Park Primary School, Science plays a vital role in the curriculum, with specialised lessons from Year One to Year Six and integrated into the Early Childhood program for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary.
The program includes
· Earth and Space Science
· Physical Science
· Biological Science
· Chemical Science
Our engaging science curriculum sparks students' interest and passion for the wonders of the natural world. From conducting exciting experiments to engaging in real-world applications, our students actively participate in the scientific process. This includes questioning, planning, collecting and analysing data, evaluating resuts and drawing evidence-based conclusion.
Digital tools like iPads are used for research and sharing work on platforms such as Seesaw to involve families in their learning journey.
STEM Club
Participating in the Lunchtime STEM Club offers students an excellent chance to cooperate and collaborate as a team on a project every term, with a group of 10 students chosen from Year 5 and 6. It enables them to explore a specialized subject with peers who share similar interests, all outside the regular classroom setting.
Through STEM, students develop key skills such as problem-solving, creativity, critical analysis, teamwork, independent thinking, initiative, communication and digital literacy. These skills form the foundation for success in both academic settings and beyond.
